Tutti Frutti Jam

My homemade Damson Jelly has all been eaten by my guests on toast at breakfast.
So had a search in my freezer for some soft fruit picked last year.
Found some blackberries, blackcurrants, redcurrants and blueberries in there.
Added some reduced strawberries bought from Coop as well, and the whole lot weighed about 3lbs.
I potted up 7 jars of my Tutti Frutti Jam a W.I. recipe which I have used before for my surplus soft fruit.
Hope the guests will enjoy it at breakfast this weekend.

Bro Tryweryn school in Remembrance Ceremony.

Llion,Harri  and Meleri with Mrs Jano Owen(head teacher) showing
a T-shirt (in remembrance of the Easter Uprising) to Sean O Mahony.
Author of Frongoch University of Revolution.
Frongoch is regarded as the "university of revolution" because many who "graduated" became key leaders in the Irish struggle for independence

Frongoch ties to Easter Rising remembered on Sat.

A ceremony was held  in our village on Saturday to remember 1,800 Irish men
interned in the old whiskey distillery after the 1916 Easter Rising.
About 50 descendants of Irish prisoners attended Saturday's event.

Mother and calf feeling better.

The cow and calf are up and about today, after their ordeal last night.
John had to feed the calf some of her milk with a bottle first thing this morning, but by lunchtime she was able to suckle by herself.

Emergency caesarean

We had an emergency caesarean on the farm tonight.
John was out at 5pm this morning, checking the cattle, they all seem to be calving these days.
One cow seemed to be near calving, but nothing seemed to be happening all day.So he phone the vets, and he arrived after evening surgery.but because of internal problem, had to get another vet
to help do a caesarean op.
The calf came alive after a lot of persuasion.
Hope mother and daughter will be feeling better by morning.

Another arrival today

The new McHale baler delivered this evening, and the old Claas baler going to be towed away with this posh Fastrac.

New Arrivals

The two calves born in the last days.

Paper bedding

It was a load of paper pulp  in a 45ft long lorry. My brother uses it for animal bedding, but it was delivered here, because the lorry would never have negotiated the narrow road to his farm. So John had to carry  four trailer loads to his farm.Does'nt look much of a smelly heap here.Anyway i'ts gone now.

Delivery at 7am this morning

When I went out this morning this massive lorry was leaving the yard.
